Agnes Cohen & Lorene Broc’s Guide to Miami Beach
At Home in Miami Beach
Iconic architecture, glittering nightlife, international vibe, golf courses, and arresting ocean views most commonly come to mind when visitors picture Miami Beach, and the area delivers on its reputation. This diverse neighborhood boasts many of the city’s best restaurants and hotels, all within minutes of beaches to the east and sunsets off Biscayne Bay to the west. Locals here are anchored by the water, considering sporadic urban congestion from annual events such as Art Basel and South Beach Food & Wine Festival a small price to pay for one living in one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
Many of Miami Beach’s flagship restaurants and lounges are located near or within hotels along Collins Avenue. Here, relish in luxury living with members-only clubs like Soho Beach House and five-star spas like Terra Santa at Faena Hotel. For daily rituals, locals are drawn to sunrise jogs at South Pointe Park and dinner and drinks at one of the intimate, more imaginative joints like 27 Restaurant & Bar. Miami Beach is also home to cultural institutions such as The Wolfsonian Museum, The Fillmore live music venue, The North Beach bandshell, and, after an extensive renovation effort, the soon-to-be completed Miami Beach Convention Center.
Miami Beach property is as diverse as its population. A concentration of condos are situated south of 17th Street; most of which are older mid-rises with notable Art Deco architecture. The area’s pricier single-family homes can be found in Mid and North Beach along the golf course, Intracoastal Waterway and Biscayne Bay, while surrounding private islands - including the Venetian Islands, La Gorce Island, and Sunset Islands - represent some of the most exclusive property in the world.
Agnes and Lorene use a personable, hands-on approach when working with their international and local clients. They both live and love Miami Beach.
